Happy belated birthday Singapore!
I totally agree wif chow chng's comments...yesterday i suddenly felt a stinge of sadness n loneliness on my beloved country's 40 th birthday. it was worsened by the fact that i couldnt get to catch the live telecast of the NDP... some pple may say "wats so great abt the NDP? its the same old group of pple marching n performing!" wait till these pple go overseas either for attachments or studies, then they will tell u how dearly they miss Singapore n the NDP. the small gathering at the tavern in my uni DEFINITELY cannot be compared to the atmosphere which Singaporeans experienced during the parade or staying at home to watch it...in their minds, the displeasure abt Singapore is gone, wat is left is their wishes for prosperity n peace in Singapore...the idiom,"absence makes the heart grow fonder" is truely applicable in this instance.
I ran to the tavern, full of expectations n hope that i will be able to catch the live broadcast but i left the place after 20 minutes, absolutely disappointed. luckily, my national day nite was not completely spoilt by this event as i join my friends for a steamboat dinner. the food at the dinner wasnt that great, but this dinner provides mi an opportunity for mi to know more friends n her. yes, the sight of her really brightens up my day. her dimples n her ever smiling face really chases away the boredom n sadness in me. even though she's still recovering from her sore throat, she was able to mingle freely with the people at the dinner. thats really reflects her friendly personality.
But, i 'm now at a crossroad, unable to decide whether i'm treating her as a friend or a special one...am i having a crush on her or i'm in love with her? I also fear her rejection as this may imply that i will also lose her a friend. i need some advice... HELP!
